Germany(Baden-Württemberg) - Mannheim
Mannheim is a city in the southwestern part of Germany.
Mannheim is located at the confluence of the Rhine and the Neckar in the northwestern corner of Baden-Württemberg. The Rhine separates Mannheim from the city of Ludwigshafen, just to the west of it in Rhineland-Palatinate, and the border of Baden-Württemberg with Hesse is just to the north. Mannheim is downstream along the Neckar from the city of Heidelberg.
The Mannheim Water Tower is a well-known landmark of Mannheim . The water tower was built from 1886 to 1889 on today's Friedrichsplatz according to the plans of Gustav Halmhuber . The tower is 60 meters high and has a diameter of 19 meters. It was the first urban water tower in Mannheim and initially had to fulfill all the functions of the drinking water supply , including the maintenance of a constant water pressure.
