United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second most populous city in theUnited Arab Emirates and also capital of the largest of the UAE's seven member emirates. Abu Dhabi lies on a T-shaped island jutting into the Persian Gulf from the central western coast. The city of Abu Dhabi is on the northeastern part of the Persian Gulf in the Arabian Peninsula. It is on an island less than 250 metres (820 ft) from the mainland and is joined to the mainland by the Maqta and Mussafah Bridges. A third, Sheikh Zayed Bridge, designed by Zaha Hadid, opened in late 2010. Abu Dhabi Island is also connected to Saadiyat Island by a five-lane motorway bridge.
Zâyed bin Sulṭân Âl Nahyân (Arabicزايد بن سلطان آل نهيان ‎) (1st December 1918 - 2nd November 2004) was the principal driving force behind the formation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Emîr (أمير) (Ruler) of Abu Dhabi and first Ra’îs (رئيس) (President) of the United Arab Emirates, a post which he held for over 33 years (1971–2004).
