Pori (SwedishBjörneborgLatinArctopolis) is a city and municipality on the west coast of Finland. The city is located some 10 kilometres (6 mi) from the Gulf of Bothnia, on the estuary of the Kokemäenjoki river, which is the largest in Finland. It was established in 1558 by John III (FinnishJuhana III or Juhana-herttua). Pori is the most important town in the Satakunta region.
The Junnelius Palace was an apartment building built in 1893-1895 by Robert Junnelius, and Hugo Rosenlew. The architect was August Krook. The building was purchased by the city of Pori, Finland in 1962 and it has been renovated for use as the new city hall..
