The Old Harburg Elbe bridge was on September 30, 1899 by Kaiser Wilhelm II. opened. The then built for road vehicles 474 m long steel arch bridge was the first road bridge over the Southern Elbe and is now used only for pedestrians and cyclists. The built in sandstone portals are by Hubert Stier designed and intended to remind the Wilhelm Burger and Harburg coat of arms of the city gates. They were formerly decorated with the imperial eagle.

The Hygieia Fountain is located in the courtyard of the Hamburg City Hall . It was built 1895-1896, designed by the sculptor Joseph von Kramer (1841-1908) from Munich, a brother of the architect Theodor von Kramer . The fountain was built as a reminder of the cholera epidemic of 1892
