Japan - Hatsukaichi

Hatsukaichi (廿日市市 Hatsukaichi-shi?) is a city of some 120,000 people located in Hiroshima PrefectureJapan. The name derives from a market traditionally held on the 20th of each month with hatsuka (廿日) meaning "20th day" and ichi (市) translating to "market". The market continues to this day on a small scale featuring fresh, locally grown vegetables and foodstuffs.
Itsukushima Shrine (Japanese: 厳島神社 Itsukushima-jinja) is a Shinto shrine on the island of Itsukushima (popularly known as Miyajima), best known for its "floating" torii gate.[1] It is in the city of Hatsukaichi in Hiroshima Prefecture in Japan. The shrine complex is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Japanese government has designated several buildings and possessions as National TreasuresThe shrine has been destroyed many times, but the first shrine buildings were probably erected in the 6th century.
