Taiwan - Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung City is one of the five special municipalities in TaiwanThe city sits on the southwestern coast of Taiwan facing the Taiwan Strait, bordering Tainan City to the North, Chiayi and Nantou County to the North-west, Taitung County to its North-east and Pingtung County to the South and South-east. The downtown areas are centered around Kaohsiung Harbor with the island of Qijin on the other side of the harbor acting as a natural breakwater. The Love River (or Ai River) flows into the harbor through the Old City and downtown. Zuoying Military Harbor lies to the north of Kaohsiung Harbor and the city center. Kaohsiung's natural landmarks include the coral mountains Ape Hill, Shoushan and Banpingshan.

Sun Moon Lake is the largest body of water in Taiwan as well as a tourist attraction. It's almost the most famous attraction in Taiwan. Situated in YuchiNantou, the area around the Sun Moon Lake is home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes in Taiwan.[1] Sun Moon Lake surrounds a tiny island called Lalu.

Kaohsiung Station is a railway station located in Sanmin District of KaohsiungTaiwanRepublic of China, which serves the Taiwan Railway Administration Western LinePingtung Line and the Kaohsiung MRT Red Line. There is a plan to extend Taiwan High Speed Rail fromZuoying to this station. Opened June 22 1941.




The National Stadium (Chinese國家體育場pinyinGuójiā Tǐyùchǎng; also named 龍騰體育場), formerly known as the World Games Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Zuoying DistrictKaohsiungTaiwan. It is currently the largest stadium in Taiwan in terms of capacity.

85 Sky Tower, formerly known as the T & C Tower or Tuntex Sky Tower 
is an 85-story skyscraper located in Lingya DistrictKaohsiungTaiwan. The structure is 347.5 m (1,140 ft) high. An antenna increases the pinnacle height to 378 m (1,240 ft). Constructed from 1994 to 1997, it is the tallest skyscraper in Kaohsiung, and was the tallest in Taiwan until the completion of Taipei 101.
